Application & Initial Screening** Prospective families complete a detailed application that includes information about lifestyle, work schedule, home environment, previous pet experience, and expectations. This helps us understand what type of puppy will thrive in your home. **2. Conversation & Education** We schedule a phone or video conversation to review your application, answer questions, and ensure expectations are realistic. We also provide guidance on the needs of Shih Tzu puppies, including grooming, training, and companionship requirements. **3. Temperament Evaluation** Each puppy is observed and evaluated over time for personality traits such as energy level, confidence, independence, and affection. Because personalities change as they develop, we do not assign puppies based on early impressions alone. **4. Lifestyle-Based Matching** Puppies are matched to families based on compatibility, not color or size preference. For example: • Lower energy, more laid back puppies are placed with calmer households • More playful, active puppies are matched with families wanting engagement and activity • Highly affectionate “lap puppies” are placed with those seeking constant companionship **5. Selection Process** Families are invited to choose in order of deposit, but final placement is guided by breeder recommendation to ensure the best fit. This protects both the puppy and the family from mismatches. **6. Preparation & Transition** Before going home, puppies are started on potty training, exposed to household routines, and continue Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS). Families receive guidance on transitioning, feeding, and continued training. **7. Ongoing Support** We remain available for questions and support after placement. Our commitment does not end when the puppy leaves, we are invested in lifelong success. ”
