Meet the breeder

I'm Laura L., the breeder behind Peaceful Garden Cavaliers located in Sandstone, MN. We host a health clinic every June for our dogs with a cardiologist, ophthalmologist and radiograph doctor for clients and area breeders. We want to encourage health testing! Check out peacefulgardencavaliers on the web for dates and FAQ, and also our you tube channel!

Q. & A. with Laura

  • Why did you start breeding?

My first Cavalier was very difficult to get ahold of and I could not find a breeder who would disclose all testing. I knew if I wanted all the testing done, I would have to do it myself. I have since found some kindred souls who have become a wonderful part of my breeding program. Together we can do better for the Cavalier!
  • What makes your program special?

I work closely with other breeders, encouraging them to fully test their dogs By working together, we can make sure that we pair appropriate dogs without having to own all of them. I don’t just breed because I have a male and a female, I breed with intention and purpose for specific reasons. My relationships with other breeders help all of us move forward in our programs. I also host a health clinic annually for breeders in the area with specialists so testing can stay current.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Japanese Chin puppies include red and white, sable and white, lemon and white, and black and white. Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppies include blenheim, ruby, tri-color, black and white, and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.
