I'm Peg H., the breeder behind Peg's Bichons located in Tehachapi, CA. My breeding program focuses on three essential pillars: temperament, health, and genetic soundness. I believe that a wonderful family pet starts with careful selection of breeding dogs who exemplify the best qualities of the breed—not just in appearance, but in personality and health.
Q. & A. with Peg
Why did you start breeding?
I have a degree in biology and have always been fascinated with genetics. When I had my first bichon, I was so in love with her I wanted other families to be able to share the joy I was experiencing with a bichon. So after much research, and conversations with my vet, I decided to start breeding in 2008.
What makes your program special?
My program is special because every puppy is raised in my home as part of our family, ensuring they receive the early socialization and individual attention crucial for developing confident, well-adjusted dogs. From their first days, my puppies experience the sights, sounds, and activities of a normal household, preparing them beautifully for life with their forever families.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
