I'm Donavan R., the breeder behind Pinehurst Cavalier's located in Hays, KS. Pinehurst Cavi's is a family cared for dog breeder. As we just started out we worked with experienced breeder to learn the ropes and look forward to helping other families learn the love of this breed as much as we do.
Q. & A. with Donavan
Why did you start breeding?
After working closely with our breeder and learning the ins and outs of responsible breeding, we knew we wanted to do more than just raise pets—we wanted to share the joy these incredible dogs bring into our lives. Time and again, people would ask us where they could find a dog like ours, and that’s when we realized we had the opportunity to make a difference.
Roxy and Harley are more than just dogs—they’re beloved members of our family. Their gentle temperaments, loyalty, and loving nature inspired us to begin our breeding journey with the goal of sharing these wonderful traits with others. We’re proud to raise healthy, well-socialized puppies and introduce more people to this truly special breed.
Our mission is simple: to provide families with dogs that are not only beautiful and well-mannered, but that bring the same joy, love, and companionship that Roxy and Harley bring into our lives every day.
What makes your program special?
⸻
As a new breeder, we’re still discovering our unique path, but what already sets us apart is the strong foundation we’ve built—starting with exceptional bloodlines and well-mannered, family-raised dogs. The Cavaliers in our breeding program aren’t just breeding dogs—they are our beloved pets, raised in our home and treated with the same love, care, and attention we would give to our own children.
Because our dogs are truly part of the family, you can trust that the same intention and care go into every puppy we raise. Our goal is to ensure that each puppy is not only healthy and well-socialized, but also ready to become a cherished member of your family—just as their parents are in ours.
We are committed to providing a thoughtful, loving start for every puppy and to helping families experience the same joy and companionship that Cavaliers have brought into our lives.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include blenheim and tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?

Donavan was so responsive and knowledgeable about the breed. You can tell they really care about their dogs. They stayed in touch and sent me regular updates about my puppy. That was super helpful and I really appreciate, I’m very grateful that I found this app and also Donovan, the puppy is amazing and healthy, I took her to the vet as soon as I got her to schedule the rest of vaccinations and everything was good, I’m so happy with my puppy is everything I wanted for long time
