After looking at many different breeders in my general locale, I completed a detailed questionnaire and had a follow-up phone call with Heidi. We had a lengthy conversation where she asked me questions and answered mine. I felt confident in her as a breeder. When we arrived to pick up my 9-week-old puppy Arthur, he walked right over to me, sat up on my knees, and looked up at me. It was an amazing and magical moment! We had a good visit, met the parents, and I appreciated the way Heidi raises her pups--in her home. His 1.5-hour drive home was calm--he slept most of the way in his carrier. I immediately noticed during the first week that he was well on his way to being potty trained and well-socialized. He is used to household noises, our grown labrador, and the family, including kids. Arthur is sweet, calm, and curious. Very smart and such a good boy. We're not even two weeks in, and he responds really well to his name, sit, stay, and break. He's a happy pup. But I am also working on raising a calm and confident canine companion. He is perfect, and we all love and adore him.
