Meet the breeder

I'm Sandy M., the breeder behind Pommies of LA located in Los Angeles, CA. Our goal is to provide families with healthy and beautiful Pomeranians. All of our adults are health tested to assure our puppies are healthy. We make sure our dogs are good prospects before they are bred. Health always comes first. we socialize young so that we raise confident and playful pups.

Q. & A. with Sandy

  • Why did you start breeding?

When I was on the search for my first Pomeranian I realized most of the people I encountered weren't as knowledgeable as I would like. Despite that, I eventually found the right dog for me. I fell in love with the breed and wanted to add what was missing in my experience while on my search: dedication, knowledge and commitment
  • What makes your program special?

My breeding program is focused on quality, not quantity. I'm not focused on having as many litters as possible. I'm focused on and determined to create healthy dogs that will last a long time because they are predisposed to many health conditions to the breed
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include orange, cream, black, blue, white, chocolate, black and tan, chocolate and tan, chocolate merle, blue and tan, and beaver. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Breeder-Reported Testing

Great level

Pommies of LA reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Pomeranians.

  • Patellar Luxation

Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • Kidney Disease (UPCR)

A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • Full Embark Panel, DNA Profile, Congenital Hypothyroidism with Goiter (CHG), Bald Thigh Syndrome (IGFBP5)

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

Sandy was very helpful with our baby girl. Amelia came knowing to use the pee pads which helped save us time as well answering all my questions and providing support for her in the future. She also provided us with free goodies like a free pet bed, food and other accessories for her. Would be looking forward to buying another baby from her in the future :))

Sandy was super responsive, helpful and very knowledgeable of the breed. This was my first dog and she made the process so easy. From selecting the pup, vaccination, updates and delivery of the puppy at my home. She was always quick to answer and provided helpful details of the pup. If I decide to add another Pom to the family I will definitely be contacting her. Thank you Sandy!! 💜
