Meet the breeder

I'm Melodee B., the breeder behind Prairie Puppies located in Chehallis, WA. We believe in quality and not quantity of our puppies. Each puppy has a health guarantee, a health and wellness examination by our veterinarian (including paperwork), age appropriate shots, dewclaw removal, deworming treatments, socialization and training on stairs for gross motor development.

Q. & A. with Melodee

  • Why did you start breeding?

Our youngest child turned 12 and I had a very difficult time with not having someone to fuss over. We always had large dogs so I was surprised at the attachment I felt with our first small puppy purchase-but I finally "got-it." We wanted to breed for temperament and health...the cuteness just happens. They all live in our home and are a part of the family.
  • What makes your program special?

We often say the puppy picks the person, we believe that the connection and bond between owner and puppy cannot be overstated. Personality tests are also completed on our puppies-to make sure our puppy is a perfect fit for you. All of our dogs/puppies are considered small breed dogs which is 20 lbs or less.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
