Meet the breeder

I'm Kim H., the breeder behind PrissyPawz located in Stockton, CA. I am not a kennel. My dogs are my personal pets and taken care of in my home. They run free on one acre of land and have plenty of space to play. My parent dogs have all been DNA tested for health and breed purity through Embark. I love breeding for various reasons, mainly the joy it brings into people's lives.

Q. & A. with Kim

  • Why did you start breeding?

Breeding is a lot of work, but the joy and happiness it brings into people's lives is worth the effort. It's also a therapy for me as I wear many hats and the puppies are a joy to work with. Working with the puppies and adult dogs are something I enjoy and look forward to.
  • What makes your program special?

I do everything in my power to ensure I am handing my customers a very healthy puppy. Since 2008, I have had the privilege of placing beautiful puppies into the lives of families and my greatest goal is to have happy customers. Please refer to my customer reviews on my website!
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Maltipoo puppies include apricot, cafe au lait, and champagne. Maltese puppies are white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Patellar Luxation

Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • Vet Wellness Exam

A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • DNA Disease Panel

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
