I'm Dez, the breeder behind Puppy PlayPen located in Raymondville, MO. All of our dogs are loved as family members. We cherish our puppies from birth up until they leave our arms to snuggle into yours! We raise our dogs in our home right alongside our family. We love being able to match our puppies with families that are the perfect fit for their personalities.
Q. & A. with Dez
Why did you start breeding?
I’ve been around hobby breeding my whole life. My mother raised Yorkies and Bichons, my grandmother raised Yorkies, and my aunt raised Shar Peis and Labs. I have a great love for dogs and a great knowledge (and application) of ethical breeding. Initially I did extensive research into dozens of breeds to find the breed that resonated with me the most. My Cavs are like my kids!
What makes your program special?
My breeding program is special because of the time I dedicate to my dogs. All my puppies typically know the sit command by 8 weeks old and are started on basic command training by 7 weeks old. They also are started on (crate) potty training by week 6.5 and I’ve had many past customers say they’ve had almost no potty accidents from their pets when taking them home around 9 weeks old.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include blenheim and tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

I brought home my Cavalier puppy, Brodie, from Dez about 4 months ago, and had a very positive experience. I made the decision only a week before he was ready to go home, but Dez was patient and responsive to all my questions throughout the process.
She clearly put a lot of work into his early training and socialization, which was a priority for me in choosing a breeder. Brodie came home already familiar with basic commands, well on his way with potty training, and comfortable with the crate. His temperament has been fantastic: confident, affectionate, playful, eager to learn, and he bonded immediately with my older dog. He quickly became top of his class in puppy school, and he's well on his way to more advanced training as he matures.
Dez also went above and beyond with his pickup. She delivered him to me and sent him home with a full starter kit: a bed and blanket, toys, food, a travel carrier, his paperwork, and thoughtful tips for continuing his training. She was transparent about health testing, and I was able to verify his parents’ results easily. He's a happy and healthy puppy.
Since bringing him home, Dez has appreciated updates, answered additional questions, and clearly cares about her puppies after they leave. Brodie has been an exceptional puppy, and it’s obvious he had a great start. I would absolutely recommend Dez to anyone looking for a well-raised, well-socialized Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
