Meet the breeder

I'm Mikki C., the breeder behind Purple Diamonds Kennel located in Andrews, SC. I show AKC & UKC. I strive for "Quality over Quantity" and breed to the standards. I focus on temperament and structure. I had a stroke, I got into dogs to help reconnect with people. It started with Standard Poodles, My health declined to prevent me from doing big dogs. I went into Poms and Peks. I show AKC/UKC, and an active member of two local clubs, and a member of the Pekingese Club of America.

Q. & A. with Mikki

  • Why did you start breeding?

I got into breeding because of a stroke in 2016. I had trouble reconnecting with people. I first started with standard poodles, but my health has prevented me from continuing to comment on them. I have since gone into Pomeranians and Pekingese. I show both AKC and UKC with my dogs. My dogs are microchipped, have an AKC DNA profile, and are genetically tested. I don't breed until they are 13 months or older.
  • What makes your program special?

I can not say that I'm special. I want my buyer to have a pleasant experience and a easy one. Control to a simple point. I understand, but I let my buyer know that it's about the puppy. At any time the puppy comes back to me, it does not end up in a shelter, these breeds need a grooming regiment, vet care, a good food, and they are a life comment.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Pekingese puppies include light red, gray sable, black, cream, fawn, fawn sable, red, red sable, and white. Pomeranian puppies include black and tan parti, black, chocolate, chocolate and tan, and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.
