I'm Amy P., the breeder behind Quail Run Flat-Coated Retrievers located in Petaluma, CA. We find so much joy in watching our puppies grow and develop their own unique personalities. Our puppies are raised using ENS and Puppy Culture techniques, contributing to their balanced temperaments and great
show, performance and family dog status. We breed for life long companions.
Q. & A. with Amy
Why did you start breeding?
As a 4-H kid, I began breeding with English Cockers as a teenager. As a career educator, I've benefitted from many breed mentors over time and put those lessons to work at Quail Run Flat-Coated Retrievers.
What makes your program special?
QRFCR's mission is to better the breed by producing healthy well-adjusted family dogs. We’ve built our breed brand on exceptional dogs from both coasts - Shasta FCRs in Yreka, CA and Blacfriar FCRs in Hamburg, NY. We don't kennel a dozen dogs but keep a few as our lifelong companions and amazing show and performance dogs. Our dogs live a charmed life in beautiful Sonoma County.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include liver and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Frankie, mom
Flat-Coated Retriever
About Frankie
Born April 17, 2023 Frankie’s Maggie’s and Angus’ pup - here to make a splash in our family dog world. Pictured here with Mama Maggie at 22 months, just after winning her Grand Champion Title. She’s in training for conformation & rally. After starting BPUP with 4/4 group 1 wins. Frankie achieved her champion title at 16 months with limited shows., and then her Grand Champion Title with 11 of 13 wins in very few shows. She's a smart, sweet girl - in Spring of 2025 she’s cleared all her health exams with excellent hips, and a CHIC number. She also picked up RN, CGC and TKN titles within 4 weeks. We love her sweet nature, svelte silhouette, beautiful face, lovely coat and eagerness to please and learn.
