I'm Amanda O., the breeder behind Queen Cavaliers located in Siloam Springs, AR. Having dogs in our lives is such a blessing. We find so much fulfillment in providing that same companionship to other homes! We cherish each of our dogs and puppies, and we do everything we can to make sure that they get the best lives possible. That includes everything from choosing healthy
parents with good temperaments, to proper socialization and daily care, to placing them in loving homes with wonderful families. We strive to provide each of our puppies and their families with a truly positive experience!
Q. & A. with Amanda
Why did you start breeding?
When we brought our first Cavalier, Clover home we fell in love instantly. We thought we had gotten a great “deal” since we had paid a “low price” and brought her home the same day we contacted her breeder. Unfortunately we quickly learned that you get what you pay for… Clover experienced a luxating patella(knees). We ended up paying for surgical correction more than we would have if we had purchased from a responsible breeder… not to mention the heartbreak of Clover’s painful injury and recovery…
This lead us to researching the breed’s health issues, and learning about CHIC certification. We’re proud to follow the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals’ breed specific testing standards to produce Cavaliers who can live fulfilled, healthy lives with their families.
What makes your program special?
We are intentional with our puppies before they are even conceived. We carefully plan each breeding/pairing considering genetic traits, health, and temperament.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are blenheim. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Breeder-Reported Testing
Excellent level
Queen Cavaliers reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Cavalier King Charles Spaniels.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
Syringomyelia (MRI)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
