Meet the breeder

I'm Abigail R., the breeder behind QuickWits Border Collies located in St Charles, MN. Our dogs are bred for health, temperament, and physical abilities. All of our dogs live in the house with us, and puppies are raised underfoot with children in the house. Most of our dogs actively compete in disc competitions. We love our dogs and what we do, and we strive to make each puppy a great contribution to his or her forever home.

Q. & A. with Abigail

  • Why did you start breeding?

My love for Border Collies began before I even started school, and as I grew, I loved them even more. Once a good friend helped me get my foundation dogs to begin my breeding program, I figured out I wanted to do my best to produce good specimens of the breed to share with fellow enthusiasts. It has been a wonderful journey, and I love what I do.
  • What makes your program special?

I am an advocate for my dogs and their puppies. I have researched three different protocols to raise my puppies with in order to give them the best head start with their new families. I am very conscious about who I rehome my puppies to, and I help make the best match to ensure a lifelong pairing for the family and the puppy.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include blue merle, red merle, black, blue, lilac, red, sable, sable merle, seal, and slate. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
