Meet the breeder

I'm Cara & David P., the breeder behind Red Skye Cavaliers located in Republic, MO. We breed for health and temperament first and foremost. All of our puppies are born and raised inside of our home with lots of love. We use a combination of puppy raising protocols including ENS, ESI, Puppy Culture, Baxter & Bella and Avidog in our program to raise well-adjusted family companions.

Q. & A. with Cara & David

  • Why did you start breeding?

David originally started breeding Cavaliers 11 years ago as a hobby after falling in love with their sweet dispositions and affectionate personalities. We started really researching pedigrees, getting more involved in preserving the breed and interested in showing after we got married 3 years ago and Cara also fell in love with the breed.
  • What makes your program special?

Our dogs are much more than just breeding dogs to us. They are very important members of our family! They live inside & spend their days with us. We breed for health & temperament first & foremost. All of our dogs have genetic & OFA tests completed to ensure that they are healthy. We also use a combination of protocols in our program to raise the most well-adjusted family companions that we can.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Poodle puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppies include blenheim, ruby, tri-color, and black and tan. Poodle puppies include sable, apricot, black, red, and phantom. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
