Meet the breeder

I'm David & Cara P., the breeder behind Red Skye Puppies located in Republic, MO. Our puppies are raised in our home with lots of love as part of our family. We breed for health and temperament first & foremost and use a combination of protocols including ENS, ESI, Puppy Culture & Avidog in our program to raise the healthiest and most well-adjusted family companions that we can.

Q. & A. with David & Cara

  • Why did you start breeding?

We started breeding Cavaliers ten years ago when we fell in love with their affectionate & sweet personalities. Three years ago, we had our first litter of Cavapoos & instantly fell in love with the sweet disposition they got from the Cavalier & intelligence from the poodle. Today, we breed both Cavaliers & Cavapoos with the occasional Poodle litter & cannot imagine doing anything else!
  • What makes your program special?

Our dogs are much more than just breeding dogs to us- they are very important members of our family! They live in our home with us & spend their days getting lots of walks, playing & snuggling. We raise our puppies so they get exposed to many situations & sounds in addition to the ENS, ESI & Puppy Culture protocols that we follow to raise the healthiest dogs with the best possible temperaments.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our Cavapoo puppies include toy and miniature sizes. Poodle puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Cavapoo puppies include blenheim, tri-color, sable, black and white, black and tan, red, cream, black, and apricot. Poodle puppies include apricot, black, red, parti, and phantom. Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppies include blenheim, ruby, black and tan, and tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

David and Cara were exactly what I was looking for, with whelping pens nearby, to ex pens of puppies in the house, to the family emphasis. It was easy to learn about them from information on Good Dog , their Facebook page and other sources on line. They were very prompt in answering questions and keeping me up to date on Latke’s progress. They were helpful and kind throughout the process The handoff at the airport was easy and David came prepared to answer all of my questions and to provide all the information that I needed. Latke is sweet, confident and so very loved! caption on photos says 3 months, but she is only 8 weeks.

We had a great experience with David and Cara at Red Skye Puppies and have a wonderful puppy, Joy, who has settled right into our home. David and Cara were easy to work with and great with communicating as we worked through all the logistics. Most importantly, our new puppy was happy, playful, and sweet from the very first day, which let me know she has been well cared for and loved while with David and Cara.

David and Cara with Red Skye Puppies were absolutely wonderful to work with. They were incredibly thorough and took the time to answer all of my questions, which made the entire process feel easy and reassuring. They even met us halfway to personally deliver our puppy, which was such a thoughtful and appreciated touch. We’ve had our Cavapoo for almost two months now and he is truly perfect. He is healthy, happy, and such a joy! I highly recommend Red Skye Puppies!

David & Cara were awesome. They communicated very well and answered all of my questions. You can tell they truly care and put lots of work into ensuring their puppies are well taken care of from birth until Go Home and even after! I was very pleased, and if I should get another Cavapoo puppy in the future, I would absolutely go with them again! We love our little Bodie already!
