I'm Debbie B., the breeder behind Reflection Cavaliers located in Meridian, ID. My Cavaliers are from Champion and Grand Champion lines. All adults are health tested prior to being bred. I breed to breed standards. All my dogs have been DNA tested for genetic issues, Cardiac evaluation/Echo by Cardiologist, Eyes evaluation by Opthamologist, Patellar evaluation by primary veterinarian and PennHip xrays with primary veterinarian. I show my Cavaliers in conformation.
Q. & A. with Debbie
Why did you start breeding?
I started breeding due to not being able to get the show quality dog I was looking for. I breed a couple litters a year in hopes of getting my next show prospect. Having puppies in the house is always wonderful. I raise them in my home where all my dogs live.
What makes your program special?
My breeding standards are always with health, temperament and breed standard in mind. I do not breed non-standard colors. I currently breed blenheims and tri only. I am working my way to solid colors. I am very supportive and available for my puppy families.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include blenheim and tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Breeder-Reported Testing
Excellent level
Reflection Cavaliers reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Cavalier King Charles Spaniels.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
