I'm Shelly F., the breeder behind Rhapsody Cavaliers located in San Tan Valley, AZ. I have served on the board of the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club of Central Arizona for 13 years, and currently (September 2023) I manage our all breed health clinics that occur 3 times a year. I am a member of the American Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club (which is the AKC Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Parent Club) and a member of the CKCSC-USA. I am committed to health, temperament, and quality in my cavaliers. I health test annually with board-certified veterinary specialists.
Q. & A. with Shelly
Why did you start breeding?
I started off with two cavaliers as pets. After moving to Arizona in2005 I bought my first show potential Cavalier, joined the Cavalier Club, and have been showing and breeding cavaliers ever since.
What makes your program special?
Breeding for health and temperament is a given. What I pride myself on is the time and effort I spend on each puppy to make them a well adjusted and socialized puppy. I litter box train them, and pretty much follow the "puppy culture" program so that when they go to their new homes the transition is easy and pleasant for the puppy and their new family.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are blenheim. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
