I'm Sally P., the breeder behind Rising Star Kennels located in Leonard, TX. We treasure each puppy in our program and give them all the attention and care that we possibly can. We work hard so our puppies can leave our home with confidence, ready to take on the world with their new family!

Why did you start breeding?
In 1999, thinking of having one or two litters of Yorkies to share the love with our friends and family, our business began. It soon turned into a full time affair, and we have loved and been given more love than we ever knew. We are a unique kennel because we strive to breed only the healthiest dogs of any breed. We are a family dedicated to our animals, and can't imagine a life without them.What makes your program special?
We are blessed to be able to expand our business by formally partnering with our daughter, Buffy Phipps. She will be a front facing part of our daily operations, as well as the point of contact for current/upcoming litters. She has worked with us on an informal basis for over 10 years and has a very intimate knowledge of every aspect of raising healthy and happy puppies.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our Yorkshire Terrier puppies include liver, tan and white, gold, parti, and blue and gold. Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppies include blenheim, ruby, tri-color, and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

"Price is dependent on breed, markings, and pedigree. All of our puppies come with a two year genetic health guarantee, vet check, current vaccines and de-wormed. Deposits can be applied to another puppy if it is decided the original puppy is not a good fit."

Hip Dysplasia (Preliminary), Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
