Meet the breeder

I'm James D., the breeder behind Riverside Dachshunds located in Aiken, SC. Our dachshunds are bred with temperament, coat patterning, and body conformation in mind. We only consider dams/sires with AKC/CKC registration and with a desirable temperament.

Q. & A. with James

  • Why did you start breeding?

Ever since I was a child, dachshunds have been in my home. I am partial to black and tan patterning and can't get enough of the 'dachshund personality' - loving but stubborn.
  • What makes your program special?

I breed for coat pattern and temperament. As a dachshund lover, I want to ensure others can enjoy the breed as I have. While I don't travel with pregnant moms or puppies, I can give first-hand advice for making dachshunds the perfect travel companions.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
