Q. & A. with Ashtyn

  • Why did you start breeding?

My journey into the world of dog breeding began alongside my fiancé’s mother, a dedicated Belgian Malinois breeder. I had the privilege of assisting with whelping and raising litters, and it was in the quiet moments within the whelping box that I discovered my true passion. There’s something profoundly fulfilling about nurturing new life and setting the foundation for well-rounded, healthy puppies. For the past eight years, I’ve immersed myself in the study of ethical breeding practices, combining hands-on experience with thorough education. This commitment to excellence and integrity fuels my vision for RiverStyx Beaucerons, where every litter will be a testament to responsible breeding, exceptional temperament, and unwavering health. I am confident and excited to bring this vision to life, creating a legacy rooted in care, quality, and dedication.
  • What makes your program special?

At the heart of RiverStyx Beaucerons is my foundation bitch—a truly extraordinary girl who embodies everything I strive to achieve in my breeding program. Having her as the cornerstone of my kennel is not just a privilege but a profound honor. My vision is clear: to produce healthy, well-rounded puppies with exceptional temperaments and a breed type that speaks for itself. Every breeding pair will undergo comprehensive health testing to meet or exceed OFA standards, and all parents will earn titles that showcase their abilities and character before ever being considered for breeding. I am deeply committed to ethical and thoughtful breeding practices, ensuring that every puppy not only meets breed standards but also makes a remarkable companion. I would be honored if you considered RiverStyx for your future best friend—where quality, integrity, and love come together to create lifelong bonds.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include harlequin and black and rust. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.
