I'm Allison C., the breeder behind RoanCliff Cavaliers located in Rifle, CO. Our dogs are bred for health, conformation, and temperament. We are dedicated to placing puppies into amazing homes as companions. Our puppies are raised in our home with all of the other pets and come to work with me at a vet clinic. They are very well socialized and outgoing.
Q. & A. with Allison
Why did you start breeding?
I’m first dog was a cavalier and I love the breed so much that I wanted to get more involved in the breed in general, as well as get involved with improving their health while working to preserve the breed.
What makes your program special?
My puppies are raised as if they are one of the family! They spend time with all of the other pets and us, and get to come to work with me regularly, just like the other dogs.
We work hard to expose the, to everything we can while still maintaining safety.
I am also very small scale (1 breeding dog at a time and her life is not about breeding. Any breeding prospects will be shown as well as be exposed to life to ensure she is passing on desirable traits.) since they are pets first and foremost.
I work very hard to keep my program within the breed standards while improving upon the known health issues within cavaliers (SM, hearts, eyes, etc) and really want to share this lovely breed with other people. This does mean that I do not breed for, nor encourage, teacup sizes, improper colors (dilutes, merles, chocolates, etc), as well as poor temperaments or bad health. Every puppy produced from my dogs should be an ambassador for the breed and why they’re so amazing.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include blenheim and tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

They will be well started on potty training and the basic commands, and will be very good about veterinary exams and nail trims. All of our puppies are the same price regardless of color or gender. About Elara (Ellie)
Elara is a very outgoing, friendly, sassy gal. She hasn’t met a person she doesn’t like or that she doesn’t think is her best friend. Elara, “Ellie”, is a great dog for people who are timid around dogs, and while she can be super energetic and opinionated if people are comfortable with her, she is also extremely gentle and slow with those who are frail or fearful. Ellie is smart and thrives when learning new things. She competes in conformation and rally, and her next goal is to become a certified therapy dog. Currently, Ellie’s job is to be head supervisor at the vet clinic I work for. She’s more than happy filling in as our CSR or keeping the rolling chair warm in the back area. Elara is exactly the personality we strive for in the Cavalier breed. She’s also very pretty with great health clearances as well as a not-too-short face.
