Meet the breeder

I'm Richard S., the breeder behind Rottie Squad Kennel located in Shepherdsville, KY. Here in Kentucky at Rottie Squad Kennel we hold the Rottweiler Standard in high regard. All our Rottweilers are AKC registered, JLPP tested and come from great Pedigrees. We breed our Rotties for show, working and as home pets.

Q. & A. with Richard

  • Why did you start breeding?

When our Rottie Zeke was 5 months old my wife had a stroke. Recovery is slow and a really tough process. While we are trying to get our lives together again, I had to continue my daily job & had to be away at times. Zeke was her reason for getting up in the mornings. Literally he laid on her and licked her face til she got up. So, he became her motivation, Her reason to get up and get moving.
  • What makes your program special?

We try to look at every perspective when breeding. From over 5 generations of health history to Inbreeding coefficient & Ancestry Loss coefficient. From Genetics, Health History, Parents Health, Temperament , Food Health, Socialization, training & love given to each pup/dog. Our general love and passion for Rottweilers I think makes us the most special. As I believe it is what we were meant to do.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
