Meet the breeder

I'm Kristy A., the breeder behind Ruby Mountain Labradors located in Elko, NV. We are a small hobby program aimed at producing exceptional Labradors for wonderful families. We take pride in our pups! Our dogs are bred for conformation, temperament, and health. Not one aspect is more or less important than the other. If a dog does not personify what the breed is known for in any way it will not be a part of our program. Our dogs are beloved family pets and those are the homes we look for.

Q. & A. with Kristy

  • Why did you start breeding?

My dad was more or less a backyard breeder of American-style Labradors. When I got into the veterinary field I learned the importance of health testing and responsible breeding to better the breed. I got my first well-bred lab when I was 16 and have been dedicated to preserving the breed ever since. I only breed bench bred (commonly referred to as English type) labradors.
  • What makes your program special?

My dogs are pets 1st, show dogs 2nd, and breeding dogs 3rd. I generally breed to produce my next show dog after doing all health clearances and my buyers benefit from my dedication to only produce the best puppies available. They are well-socialized and loved while being raised in my home with my children and are easily trained, beautiful, and well-balanced puppies when they go to their new homes.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black and yellow. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
