Q. & A. with Hannah
Why did you start breeding?
After experiencing our lives change by owning our own Australian Shepherds, we felt called to spread this pure joy to other people! Our dogs have gotten us through a life-altering chronic illness diagnosis, moving to a new city, late-night study sessions, and every little thing in between.
What makes your program special?
We raise these puppies inside our home. They experience family life right from the get-go. We spend hours with these puppies (day and night) and follow strategic programs each day, such as Early Neurological Stimulation exercises, potty and kennel training, social and item exposure, etc.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include blue merle and black tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

This was the best and most healing experience. After losing my service dog of 9 years I was so heartbroken and in need of a companion. I found my pup by googling on the internet “Australia shepherd puppy” and then downloaded the good dog app very soon after that. When I first saw a picture of my pup my heart was immediately stolen. Hannah was so responsive and sensitive to my needs and what I was looking for. After choosing my pup she was so accommodating and informative for next steps and I truly felt so comfortable with the whole processes. Hannah and her husband was so kind and supportive and you can tell they genuinely care about their pups.
I would highly recommend them to anyone.
My pup just had his first vet visit today and the vet complimented how calm, well mannered, and healthy he is. I know it has to do with his upbringing.
So grateful for my pup and Salty Dog!

Hannah is such a delight to work with! She’s super sweet and knowledgeable, and you can tell that she really cares about her pups and the breed. She responded so quickly to all my questions and made puppy pickup such a breeze. She was extremely detailed and thoughtful, providing everything we needed to make our first weeks with our pup so much easier, including a huge portion of his current kibble, supplemental food, a toy and blanket with his mom’s and littermate’s scents, and a folder with all his records and helpful tips. Our new little family member, Copper, is such a sweet and gorgeous puppy. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect little brother for our 2-year-old Aussie, Maru. Thank you so so much again for everything, Hannah!

We are so grateful to Hannah and highly recommend Salty Dog Australian Shepards! Our little Loki (formerly Chester)… is a sweet, playful, happy, healthy bundle of fur we are so happy to have welcomed into our family. Hannah keeps (and provided us with!) comprehensive medical and developmental records so that we almost feel as though we were part of his journey from birth. Our little guy was clearly loved and well cared for from the start and we couldn’t ask for better.
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
