Meet the breeder

I'm Tricia S., the breeder behind Schnauzer Heaven Von Longbach located in Pelzer, SC. We are proudly registered with the State of South Carolina, USDA licensed, AKC, OFA (https://ofa.org/advanced-search/?quicksearch=longbach), Good Dog and continually hold Merits for Bred with HEART program. Our Schnauzers are all a part of the family. We firmly believe in genetic testing BEFORE breeding. Nutrition is essential for this breed and is the reason we feed Royal Canin. The schnauzer personality, correct temperament and disposition is a trait to cherish and we could not ask for a better breed to have the pleasure to work with.

Q. & A. with Tricia

  • Why did you start breeding?

My husband and I grew up in Ohio where his family bred Beagles and my family bred Collies, cattle, and horses. In 2010 we brought home Monty, our first Miniature Schnauzer and a brand new love was born.
  • What makes your program special?

I believe that breeding must be backed by education, testing and licensing. I continue my education with AKC, GoodDog, Martin Vet Services, and with my USDA Vet advisor. My program is inspected every 6 months by a licensed vet. I am also State licensed as a breeder. We perform In-depth testing and are registered with OFA. I use WHATSAPP to share photos and videos from the moment they are born.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include white, parti, liver, salt and pepper, black, and black and silver. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Tricia was so responsive and knowledgeable about the breed. This family really care about their dogs. They stayed in touch and gave lots of practical advices and recommendations about how to properly care for Shiloh. Good Dog made the process so easy, from the initial connection with Tricia to arranging pick up and paying securely. I'm so glad I found Tricia through Good Dog, and I could not be happier with Shiloh!!!

Tricia was absolutely amazing. She really helped us choose the right puppy for our home as we are on the opposite side of the country and did everything over FaceTime. As much as we cared about getting a great match, I could tell she truly cared about where her puppies went. She was so helpful during the process answering all of our questions. And she continues to be available to us whenever we’ve needed her as we raise and train our puppy (Atlas). Tricia also went above and beyond to get our puppy to us, which we are so grateful for. Atlas is an absolute joy and we are so thankful to have him as part of our family. I would definitely recommend working with Tricia and have already recommended her to friends.

Finding the right breeder was incredibly important to my wife and I, especially as a first-time dog owners. I spent 4 months researching and making sure I was choosing someone who genuinely cared about their dogs’ well-being. From the very first conversation, Tricia stood out with her responsiveness, knowledge, and willingness to answer every question I had. She never made me feel rushed or uncertain and was always open and honest throughout the entire process. Before agreeing to bring Gatsby home, I even spoke to another person who had gotten a Schnauzer from Tricia 3–4 years ago, and they had nothing but positive things to say about their experience. That solidified my confidence in choosing her as my breeder. When I finally brought Gatsby home, all of his paperwork was in perfect order—health checkups, vaccinations, and everything else I needed to ensure a smooth transition. Gatsby himself has been an absolute joy—he has such a laid-back, easygoing temperament, making it even more clear that he was raised with love and care. What has impressed me even more is that Tricia continues to be there for us, always available whenever I have questions about Gatsby’s care. It’s clear that she doesn’t just send her puppies off and move on—she truly cares about their well-being and the families they go to. Gatsby has quickly become an integral part of our family, and we couldn’t be happier with our experience. If you’re looking for a responsible, ethical, and caring breeder, I can’t recommend Tricia highly enough!

Tricia helped us with timely videos and information to select Gracie and Ryder as our new friends. Rita and I could not be happier with the puppies and they have the most charismatic personalities. Tricia furnished information, food, and toys to help the puppies acclimate to their new surroundings. The data regarding background, medical history, and other data wasn’t only beneficial to us but our veterinarian said it was the most complete she had ever seen. We cannot recommend Tricia strongly enough as a breeder. Bob and Rita Wilson.
