One of our pups had an extremely severe allergic reaction to his leptospirosis vaccine. I am posting and will be sending this to all of my owners to please let your vet know, anytime you have vaccines done on your puppy, that one of his littermates and the stud have had seperate allergic reactions to this vaccine. The puppy's reaction was very severe but was thankfully at the vet still when it occurred and is going to be OK. As far as Wolfy is concerned, I didn't realize it could be an allergic reaction, and it may not have been, but after talking to the owner, remembered Wolfy being very lethargic after receiving the same vaccination and I haven't given it to him again since. I also thought at the time the vet had duplicated some vaccinations (long story) but now I think it may have been a mild allergy to it. Regardless, as owners of these pups, I wanted to make sure you are aware and that you tell the vet this information. It is very important as the puppy more than likely would not have made it without the quick thinking of his owners! I also included information from ChapGPT about this vaccination as it is newer (compared to rabies, etc.) so you can make the decision (after talking to your vet as well) if you even want to administer this vaccination to your pup.
