Meet the breeder

I'm Shannon V., the breeder behind Shannon's Cavalier King Charles Spaniels located in Taylor, MI. Hi y’all! Including previous clients, business partners and veterinarian and groomers I’ve worked with! I start potty training all puppies in my program by 6 weeks old. Familiarizing them with the grass and outside noises young , makes the potty training transition a lot easier for my clients. I also start crate training the puppies from birth. By doing so, it helps make the crate feel more like HOME, than something negative. All puppies from my family, go home with: 2 sets of shots 2 dewormings, flea treatment heartworm prevention Registration with pedigrees Limited Health Guarantee Puppy starter kit FILLED WITH GOODIES & TREATS to help puppy & new parents adjust easily.

Q. & A. with Shannon

  • Why did you start breeding?

I started by breeding pit bulls when I was younger. I bred those for about 5-10 years. Then I bred chihuahuas for a few years. I wanted a Cavalier King Charles for over 10 years! After I got my first one, Charlie, I began using him as a stud service. Eventually, I got females and more males and now I ONLY breed high quality CKCS puppies.
  • What makes your program special?

Family owned and operated. Meaning…. OUR DOGS ARE OUR FAMILY PETS! Also, I am willing to work with my clients about puppy pickups/delivery. If you’re not local, but within 5-10 hours of Metro Detroit, I am willing to discuss meeting you halfway or less with your new puppy!
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include blenheim, ruby, and tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

We had the best experience using Good Dog and could not be happier with our breeder. We lost our last lab last year and were now ready for a new little one. We are recently retired and being older wanted a smaller breed. A friend of our has a Cavalier King Charlas Spaniel and we fell in love with the breed. We brought Lainey home two days ago and she is the perfect puppy for us. She is smart, lovable and playful. We will recommend Good Dog and Shannon’s Cavalier King Spaniels to our friends & family.

Shannon is a great breeder to buy from! She communicates well and sends a bunch of pictures and updates. She also sent me home with the proper paperwork and care package. She has beautiful cavaliers and an excellent price!

I can't begin to put into words how appreciative I am of Shannon and her business. Shannon is extremely knowledgeable of the King Charles breed. I reached out to Shannon through the Good Dog website. It only took about an hour for her to get back to me and she apologized for it taking that long. Shannon immediately made me feel comfortable about my decision to buy a puppy from her because of her level of professionalism, knowledge of the breed, WILLINGNESS to answer the several questions I thought of over the 5 weeks between putting down a deposit to adoption day. If your looking for a quality bred Cavalier and you want a great buying experience, Shannon's Cavalier King Charles is your breeder.
