Q. & A. with Shannon

  • Why did you start breeding?

I started off breeding pit bulls when I was younger. I bred those for about 5-10 years. Then I switched to chihuahuas for a few years. While working at the vet clinic at 18, I saw AND INSTANTLY NEEDED a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel! I waited impatiently wanting one for over 10 years!(12 to be precise) Then I got my first one, MY CHARLIE BROWN! I began using him as a stud service in the CKCS breeding industry. Eventually, my program grew and now I have both males/stud services, females/dams, and a variety of CKCS puppies (with a long list of happy clients) I ONLY breed TRADITIONAL high quality & high standard CAVALIER KING CHARLES.
  • What makes your program special?

Family owned and operated. Meaning…. OUR DOGS ARE OUR FAMILY PETS! Every puppy & new parent gets a FREE FULL COVERAGE 30-Day TruPanion Pet Insurance Policy! (No credit card required) I create group chats with my clients(for every litter) and send puppy updates & photos BI-WEEKLY! My door and phone line is always open to clients with any questions or concerns that may come up! KNOWLEDGE IS POWER! Also, when you purchase one of my puppies, you’re not just getting a “dog breeder”…. You’re getting a.CKCS breeder. FOR LIFE.! I don’t care if it’s in five weeks or five years after you’ve got your puppy, if you ever come across any problems, concerns or have questions about something(even if it’s another pet) YOU’RE WELCOME TO CALL ME ANYTIME AND SEE IF I CAN HELP ALL! if I can, I absolutely will! We had the best experience using Good Dog and could not be happier with our breeder. We lost our last lab last year and were now ready for a new little one. We are recently retired and being older wanted a smaller breed. A friend of our has a Cavalier King Charlas Spaniel and we fell in love with the breed. We brought Lainey home two days ago and she is the perfect puppy for us. She is smart, lovable and playful. We will recommend Good Dog and Shannon’s Cavalier King Spaniels to our friends & family.

Shannon is a great breeder to buy from! She communicates well and sends a bunch of pictures and updates. She also sent me home with the proper paperwork and care package. She has beautiful cavaliers and an excellent price!

I can't begin to put into words how appreciative I am of Shannon and her business. Shannon is extremely knowledgeable of the King Charles breed. I reached out to Shannon through the Good Dog website. It only took about an hour for her to get back to me and she apologized for it taking that long. Shannon immediately made me feel comfortable about my decision to buy a puppy from her because of her level of professionalism, knowledge of the breed, WILLINGNESS to answer the several questions I thought of over the 5 weeks between putting down a deposit to adoption day. If your looking for a quality bred Cavalier and you want a great buying experience, Shannon's Cavalier King Charles is your breeder.
