I'm Sharon G., the breeder behind Sharon Gellerman's Yorkshire Terriers located in Los Osos, CA. We raise our dogs with love in our home. We have high expectations for our pups and strive to pair each one with a loving family. We commit ourselves towards preparing each one of our puppies to thrive in their new homes, and we enjoy working with their new families so that they can raise their beloved companions with confidence!
Q. & A. with Sharon
Why did you start breeding?
We bought our first male in 2019 with the idea of maybe one day having him mate with another Yorkie. That idea soon grew into more than just a concept. In 2021 after looking through the AKC marketplace to look for a potential bride a serendipitous situation fell into our lap. We came in contact with a 30 year veteran and we purchased a darling Dam from her. She has been giving us guidance and apprenticeship all along the way. In September 2021 we had our first litter of five!
Our puppies are born and raised by our bedside. They do not leave our sight from the minute they are born and with every waking moment they are adored, cared for and loved to the fullest.
What makes your program special?
We have decided purposely and consciously NOT to dewclaw or to dock their tails.
After extensive research we have found out that the tail docking is only for cosmetic purposes and it’s absolutely not necessary to remove the dewclaws.
We believe dogs smile with their tails and certainly need their thumbs (dewclaws) to grab their favorite toy and gnaw their favorite bone
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
