I'm Amy K., the breeder behind Shayna Flat-Coated Retrievers located in Keene, NH. Our program was built with care and intention in every step. We are passionate about the health and wellbeing of this breed, and we want our program to be an example of how to responsibly breed high-quality, healthy dogs.
Q. & A. with Amy
Why did you start breeding?
My long term friend and mentor, Rachel Hill, Blacfriar Flat Coated Retrievers, encouraged me to breed my first litter six years ago. It was an amazing experience. I knew I could do even better and bred again last year. Producing high quality show and performance dogs that are equally suitable as outstanding family companions is my goal.
What makes your program special?
I look for well rounded puppies. I follow the Puppy Culture protocol to raise confident, healthy, versatile puppies. My goal is to have the puppy transition smoothly into their new home, hopefully housebroken and well socialized for their age. I am there to support all of my puppy buyers in whatever their aspirations they have for their new family member.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include liver and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

About Shiri
Shiri is a very pretty versatile flat coat. She not only did well in the show ring, she’s continuing to compete in obedience and rally. Currently we are also training for her senior hunter and open agility titles. She loves dock diving and we hope to start entering some shows later this year. Shiri has had all health clearances and has a CHIC number.
