  • Why did you start breeding?

    I love the Shih Tzu Breed, I wanted to share the breed with others in hopes of making others happier, less lonely as well as keeping the Shih Tzu breed thriving. The Story behind the Shih Tzu breed is so wonderful, fascinating and interesting, it is a story that every dog lover would enjoy reading. I have 5 years of experience and I am still continuing to learn daily.

  • What makes your program special?

    I am hands on with all my puppies during the birthing process. I work at a vetenarian clinic so I am learning new things everyday. My main concern is health.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Meleta

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $1,000 - $2,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

  • Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Patellar Luxation

    Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

    Meleta was absolutely amazing. Very personal and very knowledgeable was able to answer any questions that I had. She sent me pictures as soon as my baby was born and continued to send me pictures when he first opened his eyes, first steps and learning to walk, plus watching my baby interact with mommy and siblings was great meeting dad and having my baby history.     We had such a wonderful experience with Meleta! From the very beginning, she was kind, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable about Shih Tzus. She kept us updated every step of the way with photos and videos, and it was clear how much love and care she puts into her puppies. Our two Shih Tzus, Mochi and Odie, came home at nine weeks old and were already trained to use pee pads, which made the transition so smooth. I initially had concerns about bringing home two puppies from the same litter, but Meleta quickly connected me with past owners who had done the same.     Meleta was a joy to work with. She was so thoughtful sending video, photos, we FaceTimed and I visited on site. By the time I took Izzi home she was familiar with me and totally at ease!     Everything went perfect with Meleta!! She answered all of my questions very promptly and never seemed bothered by how many I had. lol She was more than accommodating when it came to picking up our sweet baby boy. She provided us with more than we expected to make Atlas feel comfortable coming home with us and was very thorough on his needs and wants. Even after we left, she still reached out to make sure our new family was adjusting well and if we had any more questions or concerns. We would glad adopt from Meleta again in the future.
