Meet the breeder

I'm Crisska N., the breeder behind Silver Moon Cardigan Corgis located in Kempner, TX. Our dogs are bred for health, structure, & temperament above all else. We also breed to ensure puppy owners are getting puppy that can be a loving member of your family. We are a very small hobby breeder with plans for only 2-3 females. Our litters will be usually once to twice per year.

Q. & A. with Crisska

  • Why did you start breeding?

How I got into breeding is because of my passion for animals. It was always an aspect of my daily life. I have never been without at least one pet in my household even as a teen. Now that I'm an adult not much has changed in that regard. I want to produce something of quality over quantity at Silver moon and that is a huge reason why our program is so small! I hope you enjoy our pups!
  • What makes your program special?

My breeding program is special because unlike most breeders is that I prefer to keep my program small to be able to give my attention to our pups and adults properly. I also welcome other registries. Of course, any dog we get for the program is DNA tested and health tested too. We strive for health above paperwork although it is important we do not rely solely on its information.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include sable merle and white, red merle and white, sable and white, blue merle and white, brindle merle and white, red and white, liver and white, brindle and white, and black and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Me and my wife have been talking about getting another dog for a while especially since our current one was feeling very lonely and he had no one to play with or keep him company while we were away. When we saw Noel, we knew that she would make a great addition to the family. Crisska was very responsive and helped make the whole process very smooth, I was very happy that we were able to get Noel the same day. She has been absolutely wonderful and loves to play with her older brother.

I had a great experience with Silver Moon. I was looking for an older corgi because I’M OLD. No way I could handle a puppy. I had read that corgis can have some serious and debilitating diseases that I couldn’t risk or handle. Crisska explained everything to me and taught me a bit about the diseases and the tests they do.

I had such a wonderful experience getting my first puppy from Silver Moon! From the very beginning, when I first found Lumière (Tinsel), the entire process was smooth, organized, and reassuring, especially as a first-time corgi owner. Crisska is incredibly knowledgeable and very responsive, taking the time to answer every single question I had and still do even after picking him up!
