Meet the breeder

I'm Joanne B., the breeder behind Sky Valley Rottweilers located in Snohomish, WA. I have owned and loved this amazing breed since 1990! During that time, we have been on a wonderful journey of earning many working titles and producing excellent family members with beautiful conformation, temperament, and longevity. Puppies I have bred have achieved many working titles in obedience, rally, agility, tracking, herding, dock diving, lure coursing, nosework, barn hunt. Some are service and therapy dogs. ALL are well loved members of their family.

Q. & A. with Joanne

  • Why did you start breeding?

When I retired from my career, I wanted to participate in showing, trialing, and breeding Rottweilers. I had the time and finances to do it properly and it is a labor of love.
  • What makes your program special?

5 GENERATIONS + of FULL HEALTH CLEARANCES are behind any Sky Valley litter. TRANSPARENCY is important when shopping for a new family member! All breeding dogs complete health clearances and results are published on the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals site (ofa.org). Buyers can look up the results of the parent dogs and beyond. All of these tests help to insure puppies will have the best start to life possible. TESTS: Hip Xrays, Elbow Xrays, Heart Echocardiograms, Eye Exams, DNA testing for 5 Neurological Issues in the breed. All results are posted for anyone to see. NO TAIL DOCKING - Dogs have tails for a reason and they use them for balance and communication. 100% RAW FEEDING - this is the species appropriate diet for a canine, not processed pellets made in a factory. 20+ years of raw fed dogs and puppies produce strong immune systems, strong muscles, clean teeth, glowing coats.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are black and mahogany. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
