I'm Donalyn S., the breeder behind Skyline Australian Shepherds located in Utah. Our home for our family and our prized Australian Shepherds is nestled along the breathtaking Skyline Drive Highway bordering the Wasatch Mountains of Central Utah. The area changes dramatically from season to season and offers a wide variety of activities including fishing, hunting, camping, horseback riding, snow skiing, sledding, and snowmobiling just to name a few. We are free from the rat race of the city and enjoy good, hearty, healthy, old-fashioned living. We have a great love for the variety of seasons we see here. We have found the area is reflective of the special and unique traits of the Australian Shepherd. We already know what a spirited, passionate, and loyal animal Australian Shepherds are and so, it was quite a natural step to name our kennel after a place that has captured our hearts. We feel there is no place more conducive to the true spirit of the Australian Shepherd than the place that we call home.
Q. & A. with Donalyn
Why did you start breeding?
We bought our first registered Aussie in 1996 from Julie Rogers of Gallery Australian Shepherds. I was the oldest of ten kids and we always had a dog.
What makes your program special?
We live about two hours southeast of Salt Lake City, Utah in the small
farming community of Mt. Pleasant, Utah. The mountains are literally part of our backyard. We enjoy horseback riding when we are not working with our dogs. In fact, our Tennessee Walkers are our next favorite thing to working with the dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
