Meet the breeder

I'm Sigrun B., the breeder behind Solheimar located in Tunbridge, VT. Our dogs and pups are raised in our home and are loved as family. We strive to produce high-quality show prospects and companions. Our goal is to ensure every dog that comes from our program is set up to live a happy and healthy life and is prepared for its future role when it leaves our care. We provide each of our pups with lots of socialization and love, and we are dedicated to maintaining responsible breeding policies.

Q. & A. with Sigrun

  • Why did you start breeding?

We love to do our best to improve the breed health wise and also conformationally.
  • What makes your program special?

We only do two to three litters a year and want only the best for our dogs. We are not in the business of making money, rather making memories. My kids love the puppies and the experiences they have with our dogs are priceless.

We obtained our puppy from Sigrund in January 2025. I have always wanted a CKCS but had never purchased a purebred dog before. We have been extremely pleased with the decision we made to obtain one of Sigrun’s puppies. He is the light of our lives. She was extremely communicative and responsive during the process and very open about her breeding practices. She provided daily updates on his progress. He is a beautiful and sweet, loving dog. I am very familiar with dogs and I cannot emphasize enough how well socialized he was by her and her family. While health is a huge factor, for me, socialization is just as important. She welcomed us into her home to meet not only our puppy, but her family and the rest of her dogs which were beautiful and very friendly. It was obvious to me that she loves her dogs and cares about the breed’s welfare. Thank you Sigrund!

We had such a wonderful experience working with Sigrun right from the start. She responded quickly to our messages and shared videos and pictures of the litter, their surroundings and explanations of how they’re progressing from time to time. We just picked up our new puppy this week and couldn’t be happier. She is so well adjusted and was socialized well. She has great manners for a puppy and is just the sweetest little girl. We can tell she was well loved and taken very good care of with Sigrun and her family.

We had such a wonderful experience working with Sigrun to bring our new puppy, Ziggy, into our family. From the very first moment we reached out, she was in constant contact—always responsive, thoughtful, and incredibly informative. She answered all of our questions right away and made the entire process feel seamless and personal. Sigrun went above and beyond by sending us regular updates with photos and videos every couple of days. It was so reassuring to see how loved and well cared for he was, and we could tell he was being raised in a very caring environment. When it came time to pick him up, everything was perfectly prepared. Sigrun had all of the necessary medical information organized for us and even welcomed us to spend time with Ziggy’s mom and the other dogs. It was such a special experience. We’re so happy with Ziggy and the entire process that we’ve already decided to return in a few months to bring home another puppy from Sigrun. We can’t recommend her enough—she’s truly passionate about what she does, and it shows in every step.

We had an absolutely incredible experience working with Sigrun to bring our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel into our family. From the very beginning, it was clear how deeply she cares for her dogs—not just as a breeder, but as someone truly devoted to the well-being and health of the breed. She is extremely knowledgeable about lineage and health history, practices thoughtful and responsible breeding, and ensures that every puppy is set up for a happy, healthy life. Throughout the process, she kept us updated with frequent photos and videos, making us feel connected to our puppy even before bringing them home. It was evident that she raises her puppies with love, care, and socialization, and that made all the difference. Beyond being an exceptional breeder, Sigrun is simply a wonderful, genuine person, and we are so grateful to have found her. We cannot recommend her highly enough to anyone looking for a well-bred, well-loved Cavalier!

Sigrun, thank you so much for my beautiful boy, Cavatelli! He came fully trained on his wee-wee pad and is such a social, loving boy. Sigrun kept me updated with constant videos and messages about my little baby before he came home. I’m so happy I chose her, and it’s wonderful to see how happy and healthy her puppies are growing up with her family.
