I'm Melissa W., the breeder behind State Eight Dachshunds located in Aiken, SC. We are lifelong dog enthusiasts, and we’re excited to share our passion and purpose with others through our breeding program. We are dedicated to always providing our buyers and our puppies with a positive experience, which includes remaining committed to responsible practices when it comes to breeding, training, and rehoming our puppies.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I got into breeding with help and encouragement from my son and daughter in law! I have met wonderful people from all over the USA. I have made lifelong friends and put deserving dogs with a deserving families! I firmly believe dogs are a lifelong family member’s . As I breeder I can accomplish this!

  • What makes your program special?

    My breeding program is special because I put my whole heart into every puppy! They are confident, loving, happy and healthy! People say they can see a difference in my puppies and it’s because they know they are loved beyond measure! They are socialized with adults, children, cats, other dogs and even farm life! They are truly amazing! Happy , blessed and most importantly healthy!

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies include smooth and longhaired coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Melissa

Melissa has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Melissa partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Puppy prices include a $300 non-refundable deposit and $1,225 final payment, before taxes & fees.

Melissa may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.     Melissa was absolutely amazing to help me find my new fur kid! She was very quick to respond and then talked to me over the phone to go over my questions and concerns. There was weekly updates on my kiddo and we talked on the phone so I could get updates. I was able to send him things and his siblings, so I could spoil him from a distance.
