I'm Melissa W., the breeder behind State Eight Dachshunds located in Aiken, SC. I raise Dachshund puppies because these little dogs have an enormous capacity for love, loyalty, and personality. From the moment they open their eyes, I want every puppy to grow up feeling secure, confident, and ready to become a true family companion. That is why every litter is raised completely indoors as part of our household—not in a kennel, garage, or outdoor run. Living inside from day one means the puppies are constantly exposed to the everyday sounds of home life. Vacuum cleaners, television, doorbells, kitchen activity, footsteps, and normal conversation become familiar background noise rather than startling events. This early socialization helps them grow into calm, adaptable dogs who transition smoothly into their new homes. Each puppy is handled gently and frequently, held, cuddled, and included in daily routines so they learn that people are a source of comfort and affection. They are raised with patience and genuine care, never treated as a product. Love is not an extra—it is the foundation of how they are raised. Health is taken just as seriously. Every puppy is regularly dewormed on a proper schedule and receives there first set of vaccinations before going to her new family. You will receive clear records so you know exactly what has been done and what still needs to be completed with your veterinarian. By choosing to raise these Dachshunds indoors, socialized to real household life, and given consistent love and responsible health care, I aim to send home puppies who are not only healthy but emotionally ready to bond deeply with their families. My goal is simple: confident, well-adjusted little companions who already understand what it means to be part of a home.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I got into breeding with help and encouragement from my son and daughter in law! I have met wonderful people from all over the USA. I have made lifelong friends and put deserving dogs with a deserving families! I firmly believe dogs are a lifelong family member’s . As I breeder I can accomplish this!

  • What makes your program special?

    My breeding program is special because I put my whole heart into every puppy! They are confident, loving, happy and healthy! People say they can see a difference in my puppies and it’s because they know they are loved beyond measure! They are socialized with adults, children, cats, other dogs and even farm life! They are truly amazing! Happy , blessed and most importantly healthy!

    Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies include smooth and longhaired coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

Puppy prices include a $300 non-refundable deposit and between $2,000 - $2,300 final payment, before taxes & fees.

    Melissa was easy and delightful to work with.
