I'm Verla K., the breeder behind Sugarloaf Cavaliers located in Combine, TX. We understand the responsibility of purposefully breeding in order to do better for the breed and the families that love them! We care so much about each of our dogs and make sure to find our puppies the perfect families and individuals with lifestyles that will complement this amazing breed.

Why did you start breeding?
I was doing my will and I wanted my dog to go to my family member. My attorney said she would go back to the breeder because her name was still on the papers. Upon calling the breeder to change this, she said I have to give her a puppy back. Thus I bred my first litter and I was hooked. So I researched the breed for a solid year and found a male and gave the breeder a puppy.What makes your program special?
All the testing and research that goes into selecting the right two dogs to compliment each other. Also, always health…health…health.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include blenheim and black and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

"These are NOT kennel dogs. They are socialized and live in the house with us. My puppies are confident, rambunctious and pure pleasure. They have their bedroom and doggie door to go outside anytime they want. Every Sugarloaf puppy receives AKC registration, microchip, up-to-date shots and worming. Parents are tested and males compete in conformation to make sure the puppies conform to standard structure."

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
