
I'm David R., the breeder behind Summer Cavaliers located in Troy, MI. I only breed dogs that have passed extensive health testing. All the parents have had an MRI to test for Syringomyleia. Our dogs are bred for health and temperament with the focus on conformation, athleticism, and intelligence. I am dedicated to providing families with wonderful family, healthy Cavaliers.

Mallory is owned by me. Mallory is a Canadian kennel champion. She is halfway towards her grand champion. She is a United kennel club champion. Mallory has been extensively health tested. She’s had an echocardiogram by a cardiologist veterinarian to check for a murmur. She does not have one. She’s had her eyes checked by a ophthalmologist veterinarian. Her eyes are good. She’s had her hips and patella’s x-rayed by an OFA veterinarian. They are good. She has had an MRI to check for syringomyelia by a radiologist veterinarian. She is grade 0. Hhhhh

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
Syringomyelia (MRI), Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
