I'm Hannah, the breeder behind Sweetgrass Collies located in Easley, SC. Sweetgrass Collies is a preservation-focused kennel breeding rough collies for health, temperament, and structure. We believe collies should be beautiful, intelligent companions capable of excelling in the show ring, performance events, and family life.

Why did you start breeding?
Like many people, I started with a single dog I fell in love with, which grew into a passion for learning about pedigrees, health testing, genetics, and breeding. The collie completely stole my heart with its intelligence, beauty, and sweet nature. Breeding became a way for me to contribute to a breed I love and help ensure future generations of collies remain healthy, sound, and true to type.What makes your program special?
At Sweetgrass Collies, every breeding is carefully planned with health, temperament, and breed preservation in mind. We prioritize health testing, thoughtful pedigrees, and raising puppies in a hands-on environment where they are well socialized from an early age. Our goal isn't simply to produce puppies, but to preserve everything that makes the collie such a beloved and versatile breed.What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our puppies include smooth and rough coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
Getting a puppy from Hannah
Hannah has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
Hannah partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 8 weeks old.

Price
“Puppies will have an eye exam by a board certified ophthalmologist. Also included is a 2 year health guarantee, and lifetime breeder and trainer support. All puppies are the same price with limited registration unless show prospects. Puppies will be matched with owners at 8 weeks.”

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), Collie Eye Anomaly (CEA), PRA, Rod-Cone Dysplasia 2 (rcd2), Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
