About Journey
Journey is truly the sweetest, kindest, and most gentle Shiba Inu we've had the pleasure of raising. Her calm nature makes her a natural "auntie" to every puppy she meets, and she carries herself with quiet confidence in the show ring. We're eagerly looking forward to her upcoming litter and all the promise it holds.

Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
Full Embark Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

Brooke is truly the best! If you are looking to adopt a Shiba Inu, look no further. Our Shiba, "Koa" is a beautiful, healthy and happy puppy!
After hearing horror stories about scams and unethical breeders, we were hesitant to adopt a purebred. However, we were thrilled when we found Takikawa Shiba Inus. From the beginning, Brooke was professional and caring. We were included in the entire journey of our puppy's birth and life up to the day we brought him home. Because of Brooke's expertise, our Koa came home well socialized and acclimated to many sights and sounds. He adjusted immediately to our house and was already potty trained!
Brooke was also a wealth of knowledge when it came to training and provided us with valuable resources about raising a good puppy.
Koa continues to amaze and delight us with his charm and intelligence ❤️ and we are so fortunate to have found Brooke.

Thanks to the Breeder’s use of the Puppy Culture techniques from day one of Izumi’s life until I picked her up at 9 weeks, I now have a Show Puppy who received 3 Titles, took 4 Best in Breed Ribbons, 4 Silver Medals for Non-Sporting Group in the International All Breed Canine Association (IABCA) dog show at just under 5 months old! Each Judge commented on her sweet temperament (for a Shiba Inu, that’s rare!) and just adored her! Izumi was easy to work with, learns fast and has already graduated achieving her AKC S.T.A.R Puppy, AKC CGC Title, and AKC Novice Trick Dog ribbons! She is so easy to work with, loves everybody, and will soon become a Therapy Service Dog. This next weekend, Izumi will be shown in the ACK Superstition Dog Show at just over 5 months old and I expect Izumi to add more Ribbons and Medals and Titles to her existing ones! Once she hits 6 months old, she will be well on her way to becoming a Grand Champion with aspirations of going to Westminster!

Brooke was amazing since day one. From our first interview until the very end Brooke was informative and cooperative and extremely helpful. She kept me informed of every doctor appointment and throughout the whole birth of the litter. It was amazing to see our puppy grow through the constant photos and notes we received. We could not have asked for a better experience.
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
