I'm Carolyn T., the breeder behind The Country Beehouse located in Alton, NH. All of our dogs are loved as family members. We cherish our puppies from birth up until they leave our arms to snuggle into yours! We are a small, family-run breeding program focusing on quality care and good health. Our puppies are the perfect loving and loyal companions!
Q. & A. with Carolyn
Why did you start breeding?
During the beginning of COVID, my husband and I both worked remotely and decided it was time for another dog after several years had passed since the passing of our beloved border collie, “Maddie.” We fell in love with a male tri-color Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named “Gizmo.” He is an exceptional pup with my husband, tuning in to his every emotional need. My husband is an army veteran, so he thought it would be great to breed them and donate one from each of our litters to a veteran needing an emotional support animal. It is the sweetest thing watching this tall grown man cuddle with his little dog. Nothing is better than seeing him smile and say, “I love my Gizzy.”
What makes your program special?
As a member of Good Dog, we are blessed to have so many resources at our fingertips, along with an outstanding support group of members that help you along the way. Our breeding program continues to improve, and I believe you will always continue learning, growing, and trying to improve the breed and outcomes and overcome challenges with each litter. As a result of Good Dogs’ education and collaborations with various military groups, we have developed a program that not only trains one pup for emotional support but all pups to be well-rounded and socialized dogs. From birth, till all puppies leave our home, they are handled and played with. They start potty training, desensitization exercises, and daily activities and learn to play with other pets and people. We live in a close-knit neighborhood and like to invite the neighbors over for puppy cuddle time, so our pups get used to being handled after five weeks of age. It’s their favorite time to visit.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include blenheim, ruby, tri-color, and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

My fiancée and I are very happy with Carolyn and The Country Beehouse! Couldn’t be happier, in fact! Carolyn clearly cares very much for her pups and it shows. She was very communicative and responsive, sending updates, photos and videos of our little pup and making us aware of certain factors of care for him. Carolyn was also very accommodating by keeping him for an extra couple weeks due to our schedule and for letting us pick him up during her hectic schedule and on Easter Sunday of all days! We have had our little guy, Beau, for one week now and we are totally head over heels in love. He is the sweetest pup with a love for his crate for naps, which is shared with him by his stuffed animal provided by Carolyn so it smells of his litter mates, playing fetch, learning tricks and his name, and a love of people and is so very affectionate with everyone he meets on our little excursions to socialize him. He’s intelligent and doing very well with potty training as well as having a great curiosity for the outdoors. In short, he’s just the perfect puppy and we could not be happier with Beau and with Carolyn and the Country Beehouse.
