I'm Tonya W., the breeder behind Tonya's Yorkies of North Central Florida located in Trenton, FL. I run a small family breeding program that focuses on the health, disposition and socialization of each pup. By giving personal attention to each pup ensures it's able to excel in its furever home, allowing the transition from my home to yours as smooth as possible.
Q. & A. with Tonya
Why did you start breeding?
Each of my dogs bring so much happiness to me during their lives. Producing beautiful, healthy dogs that can bring others joy and to provide each of my puppies with loving homes where they can live happy lives is my #1 goal. It's an amazing feeling knowing that I made a positive contribution to these dogs and the families who love them!
What makes your program special?
My dogs are an essential part of my family and daily life. This creates the ideal environment for puppies. From birth, they grow in a secure, loving home environment where they know that they belong and are special to their family. I love what I do and truly want the very best for my puppies and their forever families. I can't wait to connect with you!
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black and gold and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
