Meet the breeder

I'm Michelle T., the breeder behind Toon’s Boston Terriers located in Coopertown, TN. Our family takes pride in our Boston Terriers. We love them like they are our children and they only get the best from us. Whether that’s treats, time, and attention. They demand it. We have been breeding since 2022 and looking to expand our Boston Terriers Program to 4 females within the next year. About Boston Terriers & Their Care Boston Terriers are affectionate, intelligent, people-oriented companion dogs who thrive on being part of the family. They are known for their playful personalities, expressive eyes, and the loyal bond they form with their humans. Because of their short coats and brachycephalic (short-nosed) structure, Boston Terriers have specific care needs every responsible owner should understand. They are sensitive to both heat and cold—unable to tolerate high temperatures due to breathing limitations, and quick to chill in cold weather because they lack an insulating undercoat. A Boston should always have access to shade and cool water in warm months and a cozy sweater or jacket in colder seasons. Their grooming routine is simple but important: weekly brushing to reduce shedding, routine wrinkle and facial cleaning to prevent irritation, and regular nail trims. They also need consistent vet care, including annual checkups, vaccinations, heartworm prevention, and attention to common breed concerns such as allergies, eye irritation, and occasional digestive sensitivities. Boston Terriers are happiest when they are with their people, getting plenty of playtime, short walks, mental stimulation, and positive interaction. With proper care and love, they are one of the most delightful and loyal companions a family can bring home.

Q. & A. with Michelle

  • Why did you start breeding?

I got into breeding after adopting a very poorly bred Boston Terrier. Her name was little Jen. She was deaf and had a cleft palate. She passed away from pancreatitis, and I was devastated. It took years before I could afford a well-bred Boston Terrier. Once I got my boy Bo, I knew I wanted to breed. I found his mate a year later. Bo and Dolly have had 4 litters, and she is retiring. I have not lost a puppy yet. I take pride in my Bostons.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include red, lilac, blue, seal brindle and white, seal and white, black brindle and white, brindle and white, and black and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
