I'm Andrea M., the breeder behind Twilights Yorkies FL located in Orlando, FL. As a responsible breeder It is my goal, mission, responsibility and heart's calling to protect, preserve and work hard to learn more and towards improving the amazing historic breed the Yorkshire Terrier is. My dogs are my world and I dedicate all that I am to each of them and every puppy born into our home for the duration of their lifetime. I am very passionate about my dogs, I get to do something I love with them and for that I am grateful.
Q. & A. with Andrea
Why did you start breeding?
I knew I wanted to be a small hobby breeder from a very young age.
From the first time I whelped and raised a litter with my family at a very young age. I was ALL hands on.I fell in love with it all ! IT STUCK TO ME FOR LIFE!
I continued learning all aspects of ethical animal husbandry as I got older. And the more I learned the more passionate about it I became. One of my favorite aspects of it is the grooming. But of course all dogs also need training, premium nutrition, babies need top canine neonatal care, all prospects need health testing/screening ,how to read and study pedigrees, breed standards, genetics and so much more. And YES I am still learning. I DO NOT KNOW IT ALL.
I felt I found my life's purpose in working with dogs so starting a breeding program for me was a lifelong planned decision. I always knew I wanted to be a breeder at some point in my life. Seeing how much love and joy puppies bring into this world it's amazing and to be a part of that is truly a blessing. My family and I are blessed to be able to do this and we do it with love dedication and pride. Bringing a puppy into a family is very much like hand picking a baby to adopt. So in a way I am a surrogate but instead of babies I have puppies that bring so much joy .
What makes your program special?
I think every responsible breeder has a special program. The level of dedication and hard work to improve and preserve a purebred well bred historic breed is not only special but important. We as Breeders are responsible for the future of our breeds. We have to ensure they are here for the next generations and beyond. We are all special we are all important. So as long as we put the dogs well being first !
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black and gold and blue and gold. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
