I'm Theresa S., the breeder behind Valentine’s English Springers located in Georgetown, IN. I specialize in breeding and training English Springer Spaniels. I’ve trained several as service and therapy dogs. I also breed for Conformation show-quality dogs. English Springer Spaniels make devoted, affectionate family pets; the BEST reason to have a dog!
Q. & A. with Theresa
Why did you start breeding?
Simply put, I am in love with English Springer Spaniels. My infatuation with them began when I picked up my boy, Cooper, for our first family dog. My only priority was that he be “pretty.” As you can tell, I didn’t know a thing about dog ownership. Jump forward 20 years, and I have my fifth Springers, CH Valentine’s Contessa Marie, Tessa. She’s titled in Conformation, Obed, and is a Service dog.
What makes your program special?
Darby, Petula, and I graduated from a professional dog training academy a few years ago. They were both legitimate Service and Therapy dogs and both earned their CGC and CD obedience titles. Tessa is a Service dog, Therapy dog, and Conformation Champion with several other titles. She alerts to low blood sugar and peanuts in foods. I hope to have Tessa’s puppies going to new homes in August, 2023.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black and white and liver and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
