I'm Carole E., the breeder behind Vanguard Kennels located in Madison County, IL. My dogs are proven champions in the ring and in the hearts of their forever families. My dogs are bred to produce healthy, sound, and versatile pups. My ultimate goal is to produce athletic and well-structured canines that can excel within various performance venues AND have the ability to be wonderful family companions.

Why did you start breeding?
I have been breeding for over 40 years. It's a personal passion of mine to help spread love and joy through breeding Collies. It is an honor to represent this breed and create opportunities for others to experience the same joy that I've found in raising these wonderful dogs.What makes your program special?
I am a proud breeder of Collies and am so excited to share my love of them with the world. My heavy involvement in the show world speaks to the standards that I breed my dogs by. I take pride in raising well-tempered and socialized puppies who can excel in work, show, or as beloved companions.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in a kennel on my property.

Dermatomyositis, PRA, Rod-Cone Dysplasia 2 (rcd2), Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
