Deven G.

Breeder of Labrador Retrievers

Meet the breeder

I'm Deven G., the breeder behind Viklan Labradors located in Virginia Beach, VA. We have been involved in training, showing, and breeding Labradors since 2002. We strive to produce quality all-purpose Black and Chocolate Labradors. Our dogs have excelled in many fields; AKC sporting events, Conformation, hunting, narcotics detection, Service Dogs, and family companions.

Q. & A. with Deven

  • Why did you start breeding?

I grew up with dogs and started training and showing when I was 16. I started breeding once I moved out and got my own home.
  • What makes your program special?

We use the OFA to evaluate our dogs' hips and elbows and we do all necessary DNA testing to prevent other genetic disorders common to Labradors. We focus on a balance between conformation and working ability. Our Labs are part of our family first and we strive to produce amazing Labs that are capable of doing anything.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black, chocolate, and yellow. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
