I'm Michael W., the breeder behind Von Haus Wilkerson Rottweilers located in Chesapeake, VA. I am a midsize, in-home breeding program where I prioritize giving each dog and puppy the best care. I cherish all of my animals and enjoy sharing the love of a Rottweiler with other individuals and families! Come see what I love this breed so much!
My kennel is AKC registered & health certified.
Q. & A. with Michael
Why did you start breeding?
My father owned one when I was a child as well as my uncles. I later owned them as a teen. Being around them since I was a lad laid the foundation for my fondness of the breed.
What makes your program special?
We focus on health first, temperament then conformation. We’re not rehoming our fur babies to just any home. They’re furever our babies so we thoroughly screen each potential new owner before making our decision to rehome to ensure we’ve placed them in the right homes. We have contract agreements for every puppy sale.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
