Meet the breeder

I'm Sue W., the breeder behind Von Knopf Rottweilers located in Carnesville,, GA. I breed quality, champion sired dogs to the breed standard. Parents have conformation or working titles & all health clearances. I strive to make sure each owner has the ability to get the very best out of their puppy. Many of my dogs have therapy dog certifications so temperament is very important.

Q. & A. with Sue

  • Why did you start breeding?

After I had earned titles on a few of my dogs, I decided I wanted to study the breed and work to preserve and produce quality dogs that improve the breed. By breeding my own dogs, I knew first hand their abilities, temperaments, and any weaknesses. Some breeders are not forthright in selling their dogs, and so I take my job seriously. I educate potential buyers on how to avoid getting scammed.
  • What makes your program special?

I research bloodlines & health issues on the OFA database. I spend hours of research comparing a male and female before I consider breeding the pair. I use a 28-point comparison checklist so I can be sure to breed quality pups. Puppies are raised in the house to maximize contact. I conduct Early Neurological Stimulation & the Volhard Puppy Aptitude Test.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are black and mahogany. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
