Von Schonen Rottweilers

Greta R.

Breeder of Rottweilers

Meet the breeder

I'm Greta R., the breeder behind Von Schonen Rottweilers located in Shelbyville, KY. Our team strives to produce genetically sound and healthy Rottweilers. We breed canines with trainable temperaments who can be used for what they were meant for, the ultimate working-class breed. We do proper testing and socialization protocols on all of our breeding dogs and pups.

Q. & A. with Greta

  • Why did you start breeding?

I, unfortunately, bought a puppy that at a year old was diagnosed with a very rapid growing cancer. I came to find out that the breeder of the pups had genetics that could have been a factor in this pup's diagnosis. This drove my passion even further into learning about the Rottweilers breed and genetics.
  • What makes your program special?

Parents are tested and all puppy receive a health contract plus we temperament test every pup in our litter. If a pup does not past this test we train and retest while researching prospective buyers to fit this pup with the perfect owner.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
